Right, I've finally plucked up the courage to write some blogs about my passion. Making jewellery.
Why did it take me so long? Well, look at what's out there! Blogging has taken off in such a big way and there are so many talented bloggers out there, I didn't think that I had anything interesting to blog about.

But the more I spoke to my customers and friends, the more I received requests on how I make the jewellery that I do. How do the designs come to me? What inspires me?
I really like sharing what I do and showing people, just simply how easy it is to do. You just need an idea, the drive and creativity to make something.
I first started out making beaded jewellery, which was fun and interesting. Though I enjoyed creating the beaded jewellery, I didn't feel it was rewarding enough for me to continue as a business. There was always that voice in my head that told me, you didn't make those beads or findings. And that was it, I was just putting things together. It wasn't all my own work. What I really wanted to do was to create the pendents, and the rings, set the stones myself. But also to make something that I can claim I have handmade from scratch. So I enrolled my-self in some silver-smithing workshops, which were amazing. They were the building blocks for me to venture into the world of silver-smithing. Just those few workshops really ignited my passion in creating jewellery in a different way. The beauty of making something out of a piece of sterling silver wire or silver sheet and watching it take shape was extremely gratifying.

The more I worked with raw materials, the more the ideas flowed and the more I hungered to learn more techniques in silver-smithing. The beauty of how heat can make the silver do weird and wonderful things. Warping and reticulation the metal, till it forms unique designs.
The possibilities are endless.
